ESPN to air NCAA Division I softball championship regionals

The 2016 NCAA Division I softball championship begins on May 19 with the top-ranked Florida Gators looking for a third straight national championship. ESPN will begin that coverage across their family of networks beginning with the regional round of the tournament featuring 84 games from 12 campus sites across the country.

This is the second year in a row ESPN has televised the Regional round of the tournament, the 10th straight year for them airing the Super Regionals, and the 16th straight year for them to air the Women’s College World Series. ESPN’s regional round coverage will feature eight of the top ten seeds in the tournament including the Gators, No. 3 Oklahoma, and No. 4 Auburn.

The Regional round runs from May 19-22 while the Super Regionals run May 26-29 and the Women’s College World Series runs June 2-8. Coverage begins at 1 p.m. EST on May 20 with games airing on ESPN, ESPN2, ESPNU, and ESPN Goal Line.
