Former Baylor head coach Art Briles was relieved of his duties Thursday afternoon and as would be expected, his players were the first to know. He let players, both current and former, know of the school’s decision to fire him through a text message and that has now surfaced.
KCEN reporter Jessica Morrey shared a screenshot of the text message Briles sent out to his players early Thursday morning, just hours before the official firing.
He explained that the coaching staff would stay intact and that he apologized about not getting to meet with them in person.

Things have already gotten pretty sour for the Baylor Bears as of late. School president Ken Starr was demoted from his post and a handful of other officials have been placed on probation.
However, the team isn’t hurt more than by Art Briles being fired from his position with the team. It looks like it could cause a number of players to transfer, including starting linebacker Taylor Young, who went on a since-deleted Twitter rant about his Briles and the school’s decision to fire him.
