Tennessee Titans running back DeMarco Murray is just two seasons removed from leading the NFL in rushing. However, he is not the most physically impressive running back in the state, as that honor belongs to Tennessee Vols running back Jalen Hurd.
Hurd is one of the quickest rising stars in the SEC and he could make a run at the Heisman Trophy during the 2016 season. He met Murray earlier this week and seems to dwarf the NFL star.
That is actually pretty impressive and pretty scary for the rest of the SEC who will have to face him and the Volunteers this year. He is not only physically demanding, but he is as athletic as you would imagine a top running back to be.
Last season, the 6-foot-4 Hurd rushed for nearly 1,300 yards and 12 touchdowns. It is pretty safe to say he is ready to make an impact going into the 2016 season.
The Volunteers open the season on September 1 when they host the Appalachian State Mountaineers.
