The New York Jets have still not come to terms with last year’s quarterback Ryan Fitzpatrick and the future of the deal continues to look more and more dim as time goes on.
Fitzpatrick may still not be present at OTAs, but two talented Jets wide receivers are finally present at the facility once more.
Brandon Marshall and Eric Decker were reportedly missing from last week’s practices with rumors swirling that the move was an act of defiance against the team for not reaching a deal with Fitzpatrick. But now, a number of beat reporters are claiming that the two players have come back to join the rest of the team.
We can expect to receive some clarification on the subject when Jets team members speak to the media on Wednesday afternoon.
In regards to Fitzpatrick, the Jets’ current offer stands at $12 million for the first year of his three year deal, with a base salary of $24 million. Fitzpatrick is certainly in no hurry to sign a deal, and will likely attempt to continue negotiating before the season begins.
