Miesha Tate to be grand marshal at Michigan International Speedway

Miesha Tate finally got to the top of the mountain when she defeated Holly Holm by submission at UFC 195 to win the UFC women’s bantamweight championship. She is pretty popular now and she will be the grand marshal at NASCAR Sprint Cup Series FireKeepers Casino 400 on June 12 at Michigan International Speedway.

She will be there to give the command to racers to start their engines prior to the race. She spoke about the opportunity and said that this isn’t the last time she plans to do something at the race track.

I’m excited and honored to be the grand marshal for the FireKeepers Casino 400 at Michigan International Speedway,” Tate said. “There are a lot of things I look forward to doing at the track, but to give the command to start the engines is at the top of my list for sure.”

She is already pretty excited for her upcoming title defense against Amanda Nunes at UFC 200 on July 9. Let’s see if she can take her momentum into the match.
