Will Smith’s BAC triple legal limit at time of death

Just over a month ago, the football world was rocked by the news of former New Orleans Saints defensive end Will Smith being murdered near the city in a road rage incident. However, it seems as though Smith might have been incoherent during the incident.

The New Orleans Times-Picayune reports that Smith’s blood alcohol level was three times the legal limit at the time of his death. He was reportedly shot eight times by former semi-professional football player Cardell Hayes following a traffic accident.

He reportedly had a level of 0.24, much higher than Louisiana’s legal limit of 0.08. Will Smith’s wife, Racquel, was also shot twice in her legs, but survived the incident.

This just makes you wonder what exactly happened that fateful night in April to set off Hayes and to take the former Saint’s life. It will be interesting to hear his side of the story in the coming months.
