On Tuesday, the Dallas Cowboys announced third-round pick Maliek Collins has suffered an injury. According to the team, the former Nebraska Cornhuskers defensive tackle suffered a broken foot during Organized Team Activities.
Collins’ recovering is expected to be 10-12 weeks, so he will likely miss all of training camp.
That obviously puts his chances of becoming a key contributor along the defensive line immediately at risk, with Tyrone Crawford, Cedric Thornton and Terrell McClain at the top of the rotation.
The Cowboys open their 2016-17 regular season on Sept. 11 against the division rival New York Giants.
