What once looked like a promising 2017 recruiting class for the Baylor Bears is slowly deteriorating. On Wednesday, four-star quarterback Kellen Mond became the latest recruit to announce he will be decommitting from the program amidst the sexual assault scandal that cost head coach Art Briles his job.
Mond made it clear that Briles’ departure is a big reason for his decision to move on from the team.

The news comes after Baylor has already lost top prospects like wide receiver Hezekiah Jones, safety Donovan Stiner, tight end Kedrick James and defensive tackle Jayden Peevy.
With the way things have been going at Baylor, it would not be a surprise if more recruits choose to follow the current trend.
Baylor opens its 2016 campaign on Sept. 2 against Northwestern State in Waco.
