The Georgia Bulldogs went into enemy territory to land their latest recruit, as three-star wide receiver Matt Landers announced he has committed to UGA.
“Yes I did,” Landers told Dawgs247 when asked if he was committing to the Bulldogs. “I picked Georgia because I felt like that’s where I wanted to be, when I took a visit I felt welcome almost like I was home, the coaches are great, the players are great, the academics are great , and the campus is beautiful, I loved it, my mom loved it, the whole family loved it, I feel I can better my talents at Georgia.”
Landers is a standout from Admiral Farragut Academy in Saint Petersburg, Florida. At 6-foot-5, he will provide a big target for Jacob Eason and other Georgia signal-callers when he joins the team as a member of the Class of 2017.
It didn’t take long for Landers’ future head coach to reach out after the announcement.
Georgia opens its 2016 campaign on Saturday, Sept. 3 against the North Carolina Tar Heels at the Georgia Dome in Atlanta.
