Since her shocking loss to Holly Holm last November, mixed martial arts fans have been anxiously awaiting the return of former UFC women’s bantamweight champion Ronda Rousey.
Unfortunately, it appears as though we still have some waiting to do.
On Thursday, UFC president Dana White appeared on SportsCenter to answer a number of questions about the promotion and its stars. When the topic shifted to Rousey, White announced the women’s star recently underwent minor knee surgery.
As a result, Rousey may not make her Octagon return until December or early 2017.

White went on to say her return bout will be against whoever is holding the title.
It was previously believed Rousey was targeting a return at UFC 200 in July, but that was quickly shot down. It was then the UFC’s debut in New York City in November that Rousey was linked too. But, now there are no imminent plans and we will have to see exactly when, if ever, the former champ attempts to reclaim her title.
