Video: Panthers fan suing Cowboys after being choked out by security

The Carolina Panthers and Dallas Cowboys met up in Jerry World on Thanksgiving Day during the 2015 season. During that game, Panthers’ fan John Small was allegedly attacked by security and was put in a chokehold by one of the guards. He is now suing the Cowboys and the stadium security company.

In the video, which went viral with more than 200,000 views on YouTube, the security team is attempting to detain Small. There is no clear indication of what started the incident, but it has sparked conversation across the NFL about fan behavior at games.

Since the incident, Small has filed a lawsuit for $25,000 in damages. In the video, a few people can be heard telling security guards to relax and one fan in a Chicago Bears jersey finally came to Small’s aid.

Here is the video, which contains some graphic language:

There’s no telling exactly what started the altercation, so this case may end up getting thrown out. However, the Panthers fan could end up reaching a settlement with the team and company outside of the court just so the Cowboys don’t have to deal with this minor distraction going into the 2016 season.

What do you think, fans? Should this even be considered by a judge or does Small have some merit behind his lawsuit?
