Group of Baylor fans takes out full-page ad thanking Ken Starr

The Baylor football sexual assault scandal has just taken another turn. After some ill-advised interviews and questionable comments from school officials and/or members of the coaching staff who lost their job, there is still some puzzling ignorance and support surrounding the program.

On Sunday, a group of “alumni and friends of Baylor” took out a full-page ad thanking former school president Ken Starr.

Seriously. The ad even thanked Starr for “exceptional care for students and their well-being.” Yes, the ad thanked the school president who allegedly helped turn a blind eye to sexual assault for caring about the students.

Here’s the ad:

Baylor surely appreciates the support, but the alumni and supporters probably should have found a different way to share their feelings if they’re still Team Starr.
