Michael Bisping, Luke Rockhold continue war of words after UFC 199

|

On Saturday night, Michael Bisping shocked the world by topping Luke Rockhold in the main event of UFC 199 to claim the UFC middleweight championship.

Bisping and Rockhold entered the bout with some bad blood, but after Bisping was able to knock Rockhold out cold to claim the title in devastating fashion, everyone was hoping cooler heads would prevail and that their beef would be behind them.

After all, most MMA fighters leave their differences in the cage.

Bisping and Rockhold, however, are different.

During the post-fight press conference, the duo continued to trade vicious verbal jabs at each other. After the presser wrapped, Bisping tried one final time to smooth things over with the former champ by extending his arm for a handshake.

Rockhold wasn’t having any of that, so a nasty exchange broke out and the two men had to be separated.

Bisping’s last comment will likely land him some heat. The new champ, however, did immediately apologize from his comments, realizing he was caught up in the heat of battle.

I’m sure Dana White will deliver a fairly stern warning that Bisping needs to censor himself more moving forward.
