Stephen Curry reportedly set to skip Rio Olympics

Stephen Curry is currently on top of the basketball world.

As the reigning back-to-back NBA MVP, the Golden State Warriors star is also looking to bring home a second straight NBA championship for the franchise. After two long, grueling seasons, Curry then plans give himself some rest.

As a result, it is being reported that Curry will skip this summer’s Olympics in Rio de Janeiro.

The news comes from Marcus Thompson of the Bay Area News Group.

Curry has played in 193 games over the past two years and this postseason has been dealing with a handful of injuries. So while it’d be great to see the game’s brightest star representing USA on the world’s biggest stage, it’s understandable that rest takes some time away.

Even without Curry, the USA basketball team should be just fine.
