Former Cal quarterback Jared Goff had a pretty good run with the Golden Bears as he set multiple school records en route to becoming the No. 1 selection in the 2016 NFL Draft.
Now, it looks like future LSU quarterback Myles Brennan is already drawing comparisons to the Los Angeles Ram.
Brennan was one of the 12 quarterbacks competing in this past weekend’s Elite 11 event and he had a pretty good showing. It was so good that he drew some praise from former NFL quarterback and current ESPN NFL analyst Trent Dilfer.
“I thought he had a great weekend,” Dilfer said. “I didn’t know much about Myles outside of his highlight film because I wasn’t at his (New Orleans) regional. He’s a super impressive kid. We always try to do these comparisons now because we have kind of a large sample size of guys playing college football and in the NFL. He has Goff-like qualities. The look is kind of similar and the frame is kind of similar, but he’s got more twitch than Jared.”
This sounds to be good news for the LSU Tigers, who have had a pretty big problem at the quarterback position over the last few years. If Brennan is able to come in and make a splash immediately for the team next year, they could be in very good shape to start making a move back to the top of the college football mountain.
Myles Brennan is a the three-star quarterback in LSU’s 2017 recruiting class and is the seventh-ranked player in the state of Mississippi and the 17th-ranked pro-style quarterback in the country.
