It’s no secret that many NFL players earn as much in endorsements as they do with their team contracts. Former Denver Broncos quarterback Peyton Manning is no stranger to that as he topped the list for endorsement deal earnings this past year.
Whether you need a pizza or car insurance, Manning is the more than likely one of the faces you saw pitching it to you this past year or so. This helped him land in the top 30 on Forbes’ highest paid athletes list.
The list said that Manning earned $34.2 million in 2015 and retired with a net worth of more than $400 million, which included his endorsement deals. Of his earnings last year, $15 million of it came from endorsements, which was the highest in the NFL.
Peyton Manning found himself just above Chicago Bulls point guard Derrick Rose and just behind Buffalo Bills defensive tackle Marcell Dareus. He was also the eighth-highest paid player in the NFL last year, coming in behind the likes of Cam Newton, the highest-paid player, and rival quarterback Tom Brady.
It is hard to tell who will be the next great endorsement deal guy in the NFL, but they will be hard-pressed to find as much success as Peyton Manning did last year.
