Texas A&M defensive end Myles Garrett is already looking like one of the best players available in the 2017 NFL Draft class. It looks like many scouts are already taking a look at him and comparing him to one of the best defensive ends in recent NFL memory.
NFL Media analyst Daniel Jeremiah spoke to one executive who compared Garrett to Julius Peppers, though Jeremiah doesn’t see that just yet.
“I spoke to one personnel executive who compared him to Julius Peppers,” Jeremiah wrote. “I wouldn’t put him in that class just yet, but he’s still very young and his best football is ahead of him.”
Over the last two years with the Aggies, Myles Garrett has racked up 108 tackles, 32 for loss, 22.5 sacks, and five forced fumbles. In 2015, he led the SEC in forced fumbles with five and tackles for loss with 20.
The Aggies take on the UCLA Bruins on Saturday, Sept. 3 to open the 2016 season.
