Hundreds of high school and college baseball players are one step closer to achieving their goal of playing in Major League Baseball as the 2016 MLB Draft continues on Saturday.
One of the latest players to hear his name called is Notre Dame wide receiver Torii Hunter Jr., the son of former MLB star Torii Hunter.
While it was a great moment for Hunter, the selection is even more special because the Fighting Irish receiver was selected by his father’s former team, the Los Angeles Angels. It was Hunter’s father who made the announcement.

Hunter batted .182 this season, with seven runs and a pair of stolen bases.
This isn’t the first time Hunter has been selected. He was previously chosen by the Detroit Tigers, another one of his father’s former teams, in the 36th round of the 2013 Draft when he was still in high school.
