Chandler Jones excited for Week 1 game vs Patriots

The Arizona Cardinals got a lot stronger this offseason when they landed former New England Patriots defensive end Chandler Jones in free agency. Coincidentally, those two teams open the 2016 season and it looks like the defensive end is very excited for that game.

Jones joined Sirius XM NFL Radio earlier this week and was pretty adamant about the Cardinals opening game for the 2016 season. He said that he has had that game circled on his calendar and is very eager to see his former team when they travel to Foxborough.

“When I first found out they were going to be on our schedule, I said that I was going to circle that game in red marker,” Jones said, via ESPN. “It’s Week 1, so that’s even better. The NFL already contacted me and told me I’d probably be miked up for that game. So that will be a fun game to listen to.”

Jones also made it very clear that he is going to get after the quarterback in the first game, no matter if it is Tom Brady or Jimmy Garoppolo.

“It doesn’t matter. Whoever is back there, I’m getting after him, for sure,” Jones said.

Chandler Jones was drafted in the first round of the 2012 NFL Draft and was a huge piece for the Patriots. In five seasons, he recorded 134 tackles and 36 sacks.

The Patriots and Cardinals meet up on September 11 at Gillette Stadium.
