PIttsburgh Penguins receive custom WWE title for winning Stanley Cup

The Pittsburgh Penguins won the Stanley Cup for the fourth time in franchise history and the first time since 2009 Sunday night. As has become custom, WWE COO Triple H sent the team custom WWE World Heavyweight Championship for bringing home Lord Stanley’s cup and it was just as awesome as years passed.

There probably isn’t a more appropriate professional sports team to receive a custom WWE title belt. Former WWE superstar and Hall of Famer Shawn Michaels became a fan of the team during the regular season and even attended a game during the playoffs.

The Pittsburgh Penguins even honored the former four-time World Champion by affectionately naming the trio of Carl Hagelin, Nick Bonino and Phil Kessel the “HBK line.” Michaels took to Twitter to congratulate his new favorite team.

It has been a great year for the Penguins and their hard work certainly paid off for them in the end.
