Former Miami Dolphins trainer Kevin O’Neill finally has another job in the football world. After being fired for his role in the “Bullygate scandal” involving Jonathan Martin and Richie Incognito, O’Neill has been off the grid.
On Monday, O’Neill finally resurfaced as Fox Sports’ Alex Marvez reported the trainer has been hired by FIU.
O’Neill was fired for playing along with the racist diatribe Incognito and other offensive linemen spewed, including making fun of assistant trainer Naohisa Inoue, who was born in Japan.
Incognito and company mocked Inoue by wearing Japanese-style headbands on Pearl Harbor Remembrance Day.
O’Neill, who is sued the Dolphins, Stephen Ross and former coach Joe Philbin, has maintained he was a scapegoat in the incident. Now, he will get an opportunity to revive his image.
