Tennessee cancels classes on September 1 for season-opener

If you are a student at the University of Tennessee, the school sent out some news that you will enjoy — especially if you’re a fan of football. After moving the team’s season-opener from Sept. 3 to Thursday, Sept. 1, Tennessee announced it has canceled classes for logistical reasons.

This doesn’t mean students will have one less day of classes, however, because the Vols student body will make up the day at the end of the semester.

Let’s hope the students use that time off to suit up and prepare for the season-opener and that the atmosphere at Neyland Stadium will be something special when the Vols host Appalachian State.
