Video: Craig Sager FaceTimed Pitt RB James Conner before Game 6 of NBA Finals

NBA sideline reporter Craig Sager is one of the most inspirational figures in the sports world today, thanks to his continued battle with leukemia. On Thursday night, Sager worked his first NBA Finals game and once again showed his ability to continue pushing forward while remaining strong.

Sager’s strength has inspired many, especially those who are also fighting the disease and other forms of cancer.

One of those really touched by Sager has been Pittsburgh Panthers running back James Conner, who was diagnosed with Hodgkin’s lymphoma last fall. Conner was recently declared cancer free, but he still knows it is something he will continue to fight.

So, prior to Game 6, it was great to see that the two inspirational sports figures shared a moment on the phone.

WJET videographer Mike Gallagher captured video of the phone call, which shows Sager providing words of wisdom and advice to the Pitt star. According to the reports, it was all Sager’s idea.

What a great thing to see. We can all only hope to be as strong as those two inspirational men.
