The Oregon Ducks have a pretty talented quarterback for the upcoming season in Montana State transfer Dakota Prukop, but he is only around for one year. They have to look to the future and are doing just that after getting a commitment from 2018 quarterback Colson Yankoff.
Yankoff has been getting attention from all over the country, but he closed his recruitment almost immediately after getting his offer from the Ducks. The Coeur D’Alene, Idaho native got an offer on Wednesday and three days later, he committed to Mark Helfrich’s program.
“Oregon just fits the way I want to play,” Yankoff said. “I love the staff and I love the school has a whole. I couldn’t think of a good reason not to make it happen. Head coach Helfrich was very excited, which made me very excited. He was super excited. It was a good call to make.”
Oregon’s offer was probably the biggest for Colson Yankoff as he was looking at offers from Boise State, Duke, Iowa State, Texas Tech, Utah and others. He is certainly looking like the best option to take over for the Ducks in the very near future.
Yankoff is the No. 179 overall prospect in the nation, the No. 7 dual-threat quarterback in the country and the No. 2 overall player in the state of Idaho.
