Kevin Durant meeting with teams in LA, interested in Warriors

It is unclear where Oklahoma City Thunder forward Kevin Durant will end up going into the 2016-17 season, but it certainly looks like he will be testing the waters. According to multiple reports, he will meet with several teams in Los Angeles when free agency begins in a week and a half.

Frank Isola of the New York Daily News has been reporting that if Durant were to leave the Thunder, he could end up with the team that eliminated them in the Western Conference Finals this year. The Golden State Warriors currently remain the most intriguing option for him if he doesn’t sign a deal with the team that drafted him.

Isola wrote:

“The same source maintains that if Durant doesn’t re-sign with the Oklahoma City Thunder he would prefer to join the Warriors, a team that has reached two straight NBA Finals and could rule the Western Conference for the next five years if Durant goes to the Bay Area.”

This could be a huge get for the Warriors, who blew a 3-1 lead against the Cleveland Cavaliers in the NBA Finals. Through his career, Kevin Durant has averaged 27.4 points, 7.0 rebounds and 3.7 assists per game.
