The NBA Draft kicked off with the most obvious of picks as they made good on their promise to draft LSU superstar freshman Ben Simmons. He was informed earlier this week that the team would draft him and it became official once Adam Silver walked up to the podium.

Simmons has been projected as the top pick in the 2016 NBA Draft since the beginning of the 2015-16 college basketball season. He proved he was worthy of the top selection with an impressive season with the Tigers.
Ben Simmons averaged 19.2 points, 11.8 rebounds and 4.8 assists per game. He was also named SEC Freshman of the Year.
This is also the seventh straight year was selected with the top pick in the NBA Draft.
