Athens, Georgia voted best college football town in America

It’s been a while since the Georgia Bulldogs contended for an SEC crown, but that hasn’t stopped the loyal football fanbase in Athens from keeping the party going and rooting on their ‘Dawgs week in and week out.

As a result, Athens was voted the Best College Football Town in the United States in a recent poll of college football experts for Athlon Sports.

Athens was the only college town in the SEC to land a spot in the top five.

“It has it all. A great downtown area with a lot of great restaurants and bars, a pretty campus and my favorite football stadium,” Pat Forde of Yahoo! Sports said.

It’s hard to disagree with that.
