The Iowa Hawkeyes lost a legend on Saturday when Hawkeyes’ broadcaster Bob Brooks passed away. The legend was 89 years old when he peacefully died at his Cedar Rapids home.
Brooks served the Hawkeyes’ historic 2015 college football season that saw them go undefeated and get back to the Rose Bowl for the first time in 25 years. His career ended after nearly 60 years calling various sports for Iowa.
The community reacted in an emotional and special way by wishing his family condolences and expressing their grief. One fan even put together a special tribute video for Brooks.
