Legendary Tennessee Vols women’s basketball coach Pat Summitt, one of the most iconic sports figures in history, passed away on Tuesday morning.
Since news of her passing surfaced, fans and media members have been sharing their stories and honoring the legend. The latest person to join in the mourning of Summitt is President Barack Obama.
Obama rewarded Pat Summitt with the Presidential Medal of Freedom back in 2012.
In a lengthy statement, Obama praised Summitt for everything she was able to do on and off the court and the strong impact she made on the lives of the thousands of student-athletes she touched.
