Former Ohio State defensive coordinator Chris Ash has taken over the Rutgers Scarlet Knights football program and it certainly looks like he is trying to help bring a new unity to the team.
He showed just how committed he is to that on Tuesday ahead of a team meeting.
Before the meeting on Wednesday, Ash decided to take on defensive end Quanzell Lambert in a one-on-one game of basketball on a hoop that he for some reason set up in the conference room. Unfortunately for Lambert, Ash kept him from scoring, leading to a great reaction from the team.

Yeah, Chris Ash may have been bearhugging Lambert down low, but he still has to do better when trying to score on the coach. It looks like Lambert needs to hit the weights a little harder.
Ash might not be able to turn the Scarlet Knights around right away, but it certainly looks like he is building a great relationship with his players off the field. That is always a plus.
The Scarlet Knights open the season on Sept. 3 when they travel to play Washington.
