With the sexual assault controversy that has gone down with the Baylor Bears over the last few months, it seems no other programs want to take any chances with it happening to them. LSU is one of the first programs to take action as they will require their players and coaches to take sexual harassment classes.
University president F. King Alexander announced the move on Monday, saying they would require all current and future student-athletes and coaches to take the courses. He seemed to take a shot at other schools, namely Baylor, saying that the Tigers are being proactive and not reactive.
“There’s only two other schools doing this at the moment,” Alexander told The Advocate. “They’re doing it in a reactive mode due to problems they’ve had. We’re implementing this in a proactive mode.”
It was reported that former Big 12 commissioner Dan Beeble and his consulting firm will handle the initial training of LSU’s 450 student-athletes and 200 coaches.
What do you think, fans? Is this is a good idea that will catch on nationwide?
