Denard Robinson crashes car into pond, falls asleep at wheel

A bizarre incident involving former Michigan Wolverines star turned Jacksonville Jaguars running back Denard Robinson on Tuesday afternoon. According to reports, Robinson fell asleep at the wheel of his vehicle this weekend and proceeded to drive his car into a pond.

Reports indicate Robinson and a female passenger were both asleep in the vehicle which was sitting in a pond around 4:20 a.m. Both passengers had to be helped out of the vehicle.

TMZ states both Robinson and his passenger were unaware they were in a sinking vehicle, so they initially refused to step out of the car.

Robinson’s passenger was physically pulled from the vehicle, while Robinson was assisted.

Despite being unaware of where they were, officers determined Robinson was not operating the vehicle impaired by any substance.

The Jaguars have responded to the news in a brief statement saying, “The team is aware that running back Denard Robinson was involved in a single-car accident over the weekend and is thankful that nobody was injured.”

As the Jaguars stated, let’s be thankful no one was injured.
