The Tigers have won their last games over the Golden Eagles with the last meeting being during the 2008 season. Before then, the two teams had not played since the 1993 season.
Auburn holds a 17-5 advantage in the series against the Golden Eagles with Southern Miss last beating the Tigers in 1991. Former quarterback Brett Favre led the Golden Eagles to a win over Auburn in 1990, his senior year with the team.
The Tigers currently have Southern Miss and Alabama State on the docket for the 2018 season.
They only have the Golden Eagles scheduled for the 2020 season.
