The Michigan Wolverines and Notre Dame Fighting Irish have not met on the football field since 2014, with Notre Dame earning a huge 31-0 win. However, the series looks to be returning in 2018.
It was reported by Jar Sarkar of WLNS in Detroit that the two teams would resume their rivalry and an official announcement was expected to come on Thursday.
It should be an exciting time for the two teams who met every season, excluding two in 1983 and 1984, from 1978 to 2014.

The Wolverines and Fighting Irish met sparingly from the late 1800s to 1943. Then, in 1978 the two teams took back to the field and they met nearly every year for over three decades.
Michigan head coach Jim Harbaugh played for the Wolverines from 1983-1986 and in the two years that he led his team against the Fighting Irish, they won.
The Wolverines currently lead the series 24-17-1.
