Thursday on LIVE with Kelly, soon-to-be Chicago Bulls star Dwyane Wade and wife Gabrielle Union poked fun at former Miami Heat teammate LeBron James, mentioning his refusal to pay data roaming charges despite renting yachts and flying private.
Wade went on to mention stories of how James would text people hours beforehand, knowing there wouldn’t be Wi-Fi off the boat.
All in all, it’s a funny recollection from Wade, who won two championships with James by his side in Miami, one in 2012 and the other in 2013. In June, James led his hometown Cleveland Cavaliers to their first ever NBA championship, solidifying his legacy as one of the greatest the league has ever seen.
We’ve seen one too many stories of star athletes being unable to manage their finances, quickly sliding down the slippery slope of bankruptcy.
One thing’s for sure: James won’t be one of those players.
At the very least, we know his data roaming charges won’t be the main culprit.
