The Syracuse Orange look to start improving vastly over the next few years with Dino Babers firmly in place as their new head coach. They can start the improvements by scheduling out some teams they should be able to beat and they did just that with a 2017 home match-up against the Middle Tennessee State Blue Raiders.
The Orange announced on Friday that they will host the Blue Raiders at the Carrier Dome next season. The game is set for Sept. 9 of next year and will make history as it is the first meeting between the two teams.
This is also the first time Syracuse will face off against a team currently from the Conference USA. The Orange now have just one non-conference spot left to fill for the 2017 season as they will also host Central Michigan and LSU next year.
The Blue Raiders have completed their non-conference slate and have ample chances to pull off big upsets. They play three Power Five conference teams in the Orange and Minnesota on the road and Vanderbilt at home as well as a match-up with Bowling Green at home.
