The Golden State Warriors didn’t have a great end to their season as they blew a 3-1 lead in the NBA Finals against the Cleveland Cavaliers. Now, they could be facing some off-court troubles after forward Draymond Green was reportedly arrested for assault Sunday night.
There were no details of the arrest given so far, but MLive.com did report that East Lansing police confirmed they had arrested an NBA player.
They did not name Green specifically, but sources said it was the Warriors’ forward.
“The police department is not confirming any arrest with that name,” East Lansing police department Public Information Officer Lt. Scott Wrigglesworth said. “What I can confirm is that we did arrest a current NBA basketball player this weekend and he was arrested for assault. That’s all we’re confirming right now.”
Green currently has 10 days to return to East Lansing for arraignment and you have to wonder how this will affect his status in the Olympics. Draymond Green was looking to be a big piece of Team USA’s run to the Gold Medal in Rio in August.
He easily had the best season of his career this year as he averaged 14 points and 9.5 rebounds per game.
