One highly-touted Miami Hurricanes football recruit has landed himself in some hot water. According to Barry Jackson of the Miami Herald, four-star wide receiver recruit Sam Bruce could face a one or two game suspension at Miami due to a photo that showed him “brandishing a gun.”
The incident led to Jackson leaving St. Thomas Aquinas in Florida, but it has not gone away.
“Bruce made the photo of himself with the weapon because of a dispute with a former Aquinas male student, a dispute centered around Bruce’s ex-girlfriend,” the report read. “A source said the photo ended up in the hands of the former student, who then called police and Aquinas. No charges were ever filed.”
Bruce comes to Miami as the No. 11 wide receiver in the country and a top 15 prospect in the state of Florida.
As long as he can put the past behind him and avoid any careless, immature mistakes off the field in the future, he has all of the talent to become a major contributor for the program.
