LSU running back Leonard Fournette is one of the best college football players in the country and he is also one of the fastest. A horse named after the Heisman Trophy candidate took inspiration from the running back and smoked the competition in a race at Belmont Park.
Fournette, a three-year old thoroughbred, won his first race in the sixth race at Belmont on Friday. It was pretty impressive and owner, Staton Flurry, an LSU fan, said that the horse booked $45,000 for the win.
“I’m tickled to death,” Flurry told The Advocate. “I told my buddy if we were sitting about fourth making the turn for home, we’re going to win it. They came rolling toard the finish line and he did it.
Leonard Fournette even acknowledged the horse on Twitter saying how proud he was of him.

Fournette the horse had a great run at race and some of his stats were impressive. While the Tiger running back runs a 4.35 in the 40, the horse runs it in a projected 2.13 seconds and ran for over 1,500 yards in one race.
Yeah, I think he is living up to his name pretty well.
