The city of Baton Rouge was struck with tragedy on Sunday when three police officers were gunned down in a horrifying attack, the second of such nature in just over a week. The LSU Tigers are looking to unify the city and they did so Monday night.
LSU decided to light up Tiger Stadium to honor the fallen officers, but it wasn’t in purple and gold. They honored the boys in blue by putting up a single blue stripe running across the top of the stadium.

Head football coach Les Miles and head baseball coach Paul Manieri both canceled press meetings this week in light of the recent events. They intend on working towards a healing of the racial wounds in the city, which hopefully leads to the rest of the country following suit.
Miles actually gathered his team to discuss the recent events to relieve tension. He and a few Tiger players, both current and former, spoke out about the attacks and it looks like they are trying to help the city get over this terrible attack.
