With the Big 12 announcing it has unanimously approved exploration for expansion, the college football world is trying to piece together potential suitors for the conference.
While names like Cincinnati and BYU have been commonly thrown out, Brett McMurphy of ESPN surveyed coaches in the conference for a poll to show their preference on which schools would join the Big 12.
When the vote was tallied, it was BYU and Houston topping the list.
Cincinnati and Memphis tied for second.
The full results can be seen below:
BYU – 5
Houston – 5
Cincinnati – 4
Memphis – 4
Central Florida – 1
Colorado State – 1
If BYU and Houston were to join the conference, it would add two quality football programs to the Big 12 — especially with Houston finding incredible success just a season ago.
It will be interesting to see how the expansion talk continues to develop, but for now, share your thoughts on the best fits for the Big 12 in the comments section below.
