Report: Ole Miss Freshman DE Charles Wiley arrested for domestic violence

Reports began to surface that Ole Miss freshman defensive end Charles Wiley was arrested for misdemeanor domestic violence. On Tuesday, that was confirmed by Daniel Paulling of The Clarion-Ledger.

There are very few details of what happened on Monday to lead to the arrest, but Ben Garrett of Scout.com reports Wiley’s girlfriend was also taken into custody.

Wiley will miss team activities while his situation is looked into.

“We are aware of the situation and recognize the proper authorities responsible for the matter. Charles is being withheld from all team activities while the process moves forward,” head coach Hugh Freeze said in a statement.

“We take incidents like this very seriously and will make decisions once the course of actions is complete.”
