LSU K Colby Delahoussaye issues first statement since tragic accident

Over the weekend, the college football world was left reeling when Nebraska punter Sam Holtz and former Michigan State punter Mike Sadler passed away in a tragic accident. A third passenger, LSU kicker Colby Delahoussaye, survived the crash.

This week, Delahoussaye issued his first statement since the accident.

According to Delahoussaye, he suffered minor injuries — burns and stitches — and is expected to make a full recovery. Meanwhile, he wants everyone to focus on sending positive thoughts to Holtz and Sadler’s families.

There is no word on whether Delahoussaye will be healthy enough for the start of camp.

LSU kicks off its 2016 campaign with a marquee matchup against the Wisconsin Badgers on Saturday, Sept. 3 at Lambeau Field in Green Bay.
