Ryan Newsome announces transfer to Arizona State

|

Last year, four-star wide receiver Ryan Newsome played a minimal role for the Texas Longhorns, playing in just a few games and catching four passes for 23 yards.

That led him to ask for a transfer from the school and he has made his decision for the future.

Newsome was down to either playing for the Texas A&M Aggies or the Arizona State Sun Devils. On Saturday, he took to Twitter and announced he would be heading out west to join Todd Graham’s club in Tempe.

Ryan Newsome will have to sit out the 2016 season due to NCAA transfer rules, but he will have three years of eligibility left starting in 2017. He should be able to make a big impact for the Sun Devils going into the future.

Newsome was one of the best receivers in the 2015 recruiting class and he should be able to live up to his potential next season.
