On Saturday it was reported that Florida State safety Derwin James had surgery on his foot two weeks ago and he would be out for four to five weeks while recovering. Despite this, he is looking to get back on the field ahead of the 2016 season opener and he let fans know just how confident he is in his return.
James took to Twitter and let everyone know that he would be on the field for the Seminoles’ opener against the Ole Miss Rebels on Sept. 5. They face off in a special Monday night match-up on Labor Day at Camping World Stadium in Orlando, Florida.
I'm good not missing no game Monday night September 5 I will be out there ๐๐พ๐๐พ๐๐พ#dj3 #NoleNation

Since Derwin James seems so confident, Nole Nation can rest easy knowing they will have one of the best defensive players in the country in the secondary. He is looking to take over for Jalen Ramsey, who left for the NFL and was a top-five draft pick in April.
During his true freshman season, the former five-star defensive back was second on the team with 91 tackles. He also added on 9.5 tackles for loss and 4.5 sacks.
It would be and understatement to say he will be a big part of Florida State’s defense going into the 2016 season.
