The Texas A&M football program took another hit on Monday when four-star running back recruit Travis Etienne took to Twitter to announce he was set to decommit from the program.
Etienne, the No. 12 rated running back prospect in the country, was committed to Texas A&M since June.
However, his change of mind allows teams who initially believed they missed out on one of the top Class of 2017 running backs another crack at the recruiting process.
“I would like to announce that I’m decommitting from Texas A&M University and will be re-opening my recruiting process,” Etienne wrote on Twitter.
Before committing to Texas A&M earlier this summer, Etienne had 16 offers including schools like Alabama, Tennessee, LSU, Arkansas, Memphis and many others. It will be interesting to see where he ultimately lands.
As a junior at Jennings High School in 2015, Etienne totaled 2,938 yards and 44 touchdowns on the ground.
He’s definitely someone to keep an eye on.
