The LSU Tigers are one of the best college football teams in the country and they are trying to make a big impact in the 2016 season.
They seem to be looking towards the future when they added a home-and-home series with Rice on Tuesday. The Tigers and Owls played regularly from 1932-1983 before their rivalry dissipated once the former started dominating the latter.
On Tuesday, LSU announced they would play on the road at NRG Stadium against Rice in 2020 and then play the Owls in Baton Rouge in 2024.

The 2020 match-up will be the pair’s first since 1985, which the Tigers won 52-7. LSU is currently 37-17 all time against Rice with the Owls last getting a victory in Houston in 1980, a 17-7 shocker.
I wouldn’t expect the Owls to have much of a chance when they play LSU again, but it would be interesting to see what might happen four years from now.
