Steelers CB Senquez Golson out up to 12 weeks

The Pittsburgh Steelers were already very short at the cornerback position and they tried to make up for that by taking Artie Burns in the 2016 NFL Draft.

However, it took a hit on Tuesday when Senquez Golson went down with an injury.

Golson was drafted in the second round of the 2015 draft, but he didn’t see much playing time for the Steelers in his rookie season. It looks like he will miss the first two months of the NFL season when he suffered a Lisfranc injury will likely miss 12 weeks.

This puts Golson with a timetable for return around the beginning of November, just in time for the midpoint of the 2016 NFL season. However, Lisfranc injuries have been known for being very tricky to deal with, so it could be best for him to stay out as much as possible.

Golson was expected to be a big part of the Steelers’ defense before this injury. It is the second time he has gone down with an injury after he missed much of the team’s spring workouts with a hamstring injury.
