The Dallas Cowboys are hoping running back Ezekiel Elliott will be a huge piece of their offense this season, but the start of his rookie season has hit a snag.
ESPN’s Adam Schefter reported that Elliott had suffered a hamstring injury at some point during the team’s workouts the last few weeks. As a result, the No. 4 overall pick in the 2016 NFL Draft will miss “some time” while recovering from the injury.
Cowboys Exec VP Stephen Jones told @toddarcher that RB Ezekiel Elliott will miss "some time" with his hamstring injury.

It doesn’t seem like Elliott will be out for a long period of time and he will likely be back before the start of the regular season. It could be a bad thing, however, if he misses the preseason since that is the best time to evaluate rookies.
Either way, the former Ohio State Buckeye will play a huge role for the Cowboys this year.
