ESPN college football analyst Kirk Herbstreit will not be making any fans in Iowa City after his recent comments on two members of the Big Ten West, the Minnesota Golden Gophers and Iowa Hawkeyes.
Herbstreit was apparently discussing the outlook of the Big Ten Conference when he made bold claims about each program.
Specifically, Herbie projected Iowa would have been an average team a season ago were they to compete in the SEC and that it would be Minnesota who emerges victorious in the Big Ten West this season.

The first claim really shouldn’t come as too much of a surprise, because Herbstreit is far from the first person to criticize the school’s poor strength of schedule.
As for his Minnesota pick, well, that could rub some Hawkeyes fans the wrong way.
Herbie at least has a friend in Gophers Nation, though.
